Having built and used a stand previously, I felt a more substantial
unit might be better for somewhat larger planes.
So I built this one and have to say that it is very strong, able to
hold 40+ pounds or more. The padding is very soft and supportive and
won't damage model surfaces. There is no center bar to dent or damage
canopies or vertical antennas.
The stand is extremely stable on odd surfaces. I don't think I can
improve on this guy, and I've created a number of them as I'm on a
forced retirement, and I'll offer them to club members for $40. |
